
Guide to Creating Leather Braids with 4,6, and 8 Strands

In this tutorial, I’ll guide you through the process of making 4,6, and 8 strand bracelets or necklaces.
Round Braid 4-Strands
Materials Needed
- 4 leather strips (each about 24-30 Cm long for bracelet, and 50-60 Cm for necklace)
- Scissors or a leather cutting knife
- Ruler or measuring tape
- Binder clip or tape (to secure while braiding)
- Jump rings or clasp (optional, for closure)
- Cord size 0.4cm and 34 cm long

4-Strand Braid Technique BCDA
- Take strand A and bring it over strand B
- Take D wrap around back, come through A and C then Over A to middle to finish.
- Take C wrap around back, come through B and D then Over D to middle to finish.
- Take B wrap around back, come through C and A then Over C to middle to finish.
- Then Wrap A around back, come through D and B then Over B to middle to finish.
- This is the First position, where you finished above, Strand A is now on the far right.
- Continue Pattern
Finishing
- Leave 2-3 inches un-braided at each end for attaching clasps
- Secure braid ends with glue or tight wrapping
- Attach jump rings and a clasp, or create a loop-and-toggle closure
Diamond Round Braid 4-Strands
Materials Needed
- 4 leather strips (each about 24-30 Cm long for bracelet, and 50-60 Cm for necklace)

- Take the outer right (Cream or A), around the Back, through B-C, then right over C, pulling to position D.
- Take the outer Left (Gold or B) Around the Back, through D-A, then Left over D, Pulling to position C.
- Take the outer right (Cream or A), around the Back, through B-C, then right over C, pulling to position D.
- Take the outer Left (Gold or B) Around the Back, through D-A, then Left over D, Pulling to position C.
- Repeat Pattern
Finishing
- Leave 2-3 inches un-braided at each end for attaching clasps
- Secure braid ends with glue or tight wrapping

- Take outer right A, Around Back, over B under D, Over F, then Right to position E.
- Take outer Left B, Around Back, over A under C, Over E, then Left to position F.
- Take the new outer right, A, Around Back, over B, under D, over F, and then Right to position E.
- Take the New outer Left B, Around Back, over A under C, Over E, then Left to position F.
- Take the new outer right, A, Around Back, over B, under D, over F, and then Right to position E.
- Take the New outer Left B, Around Back, over A under C, Over E, then Left to position F.
- Repeat Pattern
